From Athens to Patras

By bus (

All buses disembark passengers at the Departures Level (inbound trips to airport) and depart from the Arrivals Level (outbound trips from airport). BUS tickets are sold at the info/ticket-kiosk (located outside the Arrivals between Exits 4 and 5), or onboard (ask operator) at no extra cost. Right outside the baggage claim area at the arrivals level (exits 4 & 5) take the Express Line X93 to the Kifisos Intercity Bus Station (KTEL). The route duration from the AIA “Eleftherios Venizelos” to the Kifisos Intercity Bus Station (KTEL) is about 1 hour, depending on the traffic load. Cost: 5€

Alternatively, you can take a taxi from AIA “Eleftherios Venizelos” to the Kifisos Intercity Bus Station (KTEL). Taxis serve on a 24-hour basis. The route duration is approximately 30 minutes. Taxis are available at the designated Taxi waiting area located at Exit 3 of Arrivals Level. A taxi from the airport to the city center (inner ring) costs a flat rate of 35€ from 5:00 a.m. to midnight, and 50€ from midnight to 5:00 a.m.

From the Kifisos Intercity Bus Station (central station for buses that run domestic routes all over the country) take the bus to Patras. Buses depart approximately every 30 minutes (Monday-Friday from 5:30 a.m. till 22:30 p.m., Saturday from 6:15 a.m. till 22:00 p.m., Sunday from 6:30 a.m. till 23:00 p.m.). The trip duration, taking the Express Bus to Patras, is 2h30min (the Express Bus itinerary does not include intermediate stops), while, taking the regular Bus, is about 3h (the Regular Bus include intermediate stops).
Cost: 20,70€ (one way ticket) There is a small discount, when one way and return ticket are purchased together.

By suburban railway (

From the Airport Eleftherios Venizelos you can take the Suburban railway (Proastiakos). This service connects the Airport to Kiato terminal station. To reach this take the escalator or elevator across the street from the departure exit and then take the air bridge to the central ticketing area, you must buy your ticket before entering the train and stamp it at the ticket stamp machines on the platform prior to entering the train. Trains run approximately every one hour and the route duration is 1h45min. By transfer on TRAINOSE’s buses at the Kiato Station, passengers can reach Patras. The route from Kiato Station to Patras by bus lasts 1h30min.

From Patras to the University Campus

By suburban railway

The Central Railway Station (OSE) is located in the city center. From the Central Railway Station there is the Suburban Railway (Proastiakos) that runs every one hour and connects the town of Kastelokampos, Rio and the University of Patras. The ticket cost is 1.40 euros/ trip and 1 euro/ trip for students.
The Proastiakos runs every 1 hour between 06.30 – 22.30 and the daily route starts from St. Andreas – Patras – Kastelokampos – Hospital – University and every 1 hour between 07.00 – 23.00 the return route University – Hospital – Rio – Kastelokampos – Patras – St. Andreas.
From Kastelokampos Railway Station, the OSE bus takes the passengers to Hospital and the University. You get off at “Department of Primary Education” station.

By bus (

The Number 6 bus for Rion, which leaves from Ermou St., runs every ten to fifteen minutes and connects the University with the city. Since some buses go directly to the town of Rion, by passing the campus, it is advisable to ask before boarding if the specific bus goes to the University. The ticket cost is 1.50 euros/ trip and 0,80 euro/ trip for students (you should have your student identity). You get off at “Department of Primary Education” station.

By taxi
